MMC Research Institute Opportunities

At MMCRI we have career panels several times a year for high school and college-age students. A senior clinician could volunteer to be on the “call” list when we are generating these panels.

There are roles within our ongoing high school program where a senior clinician with a research background could contribute. For example, our program has one session focused on clinical trials, one where we handle and learn anatomy using human organs, one focused on imaging, and we end with a career panel. If the clinician has participated in clinical trials or research, this could be a unique opportunity to engage high school students and teachers.

For those senior clinician researchers with research expertise, we sometimes require additional reviewers for research proposals. Proposals could be of a clinical/translational nature. We would place you on a call list with a short description of your research and medical expertise.

The research of basic and translational scientists at MMCRI can lead them into new clinical areas in which they may not have any experience. Interested senior clinicians could serve as mentors and information sources about their clinical area for basic and translational researchers starting to work in a new clinical area. We would place you on a call list with a short description of your research and medical expertise.

Senior clinician researchers could participate in discussion sessions in our Responsible Conduct of Research series, as appropriate. We follow the topics outlined by the Office of Research Integrity (human subjects research, authorship and publication, research misconduct, collaboration, data acquisition and management, conflicts of interest, peer review, mentor and trainee relationships, social responsibility, vertebrate animals in research).
