Workshop: Evidence-based Teaching to Promote Student’s Learning: Filling the Gap between Research on Learning and Practical Classroom Strategies

Description: At this workshop, participants will be introduced to learning principles that are based on research from cognitive, developmental and social psychology, neuroscience and biology. Participants will identify easy-to-implement strategies for translating these principles into their daily teaching practices and promote student’s learning. Participants will also be given the opportunity to brainstorm on how to integrate these strategies into their teaching and receive peer feedback.

 

Objectives:

By the end of the workshop, participants will be able to:

  • Identify research-based learning principles that appear in everyday life.
  • Describe strategies for promoting student’s learning building on these principles.
  • Apply these strategies to scenarios from their teaching practices.
